Thanks to all who participated in YA DASH 2016 YA! I’m thrilled to announce that the winner of my personal giveaway of a signed copy of Half in Love with Death is Melissa Paschal! Congrats Melissa!!
Hello,

I’m Emily Ross, the author of the YA thriller HALF IN LOVE WITH DEATH, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to YA DASH 2016!  YA DASH runs from August 25th to the 29th and is the perfect blog hop for thriller fans. It’s a chance to learn about 16 thrilling YA suspense novels and to win a grand prize prize pack of all 16 books!

Here are the rules:

Participants in the DASH need to visit all fourteen authors and tally the answers to the featured question. Simply put, you need to count how many authors chose A, B, C, D, E or F as their answer to the featured question. The most popular answer will ‘unlock’ the rafflecopter and enter participants into the prize pack draw. Please note, only those participants indicating the correct answer will be eligible for the prize draw. You can find the rafflecopter for the YA DASH and view the books in the prize pack here.

Excited? Read on to learn the featured question and my answer.

mycoverIt’s Tucson in 1965, that time of peace and love, but nothing is peaceful in fifteen-year-old Caroline’s life. Since her beautiful older sister Jess disappeared, Caroline might as well have disappeared too. The only person who pays any attention to her is Jess’s handsome boyfriend Tony. Every time she turns around, he’s looking at her with his magical blue eyes, telling her how they can find Jess together, how anything is possible if you believe.

Tony is so loving, and all he cares about is bringing Jess home. And so Caroline follows him into his world of runaways and flower children where she is torn between her doubts and her growing feelings for him in this thriller that is also a love story.

HALF IN LOVE WITH DEATH was a finalist for Best YA Novel in the International Thriller Writers Organization’s 2016 Thriller Awards!

You can buy HALF IN LOVE WITH DEATH on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
Or add it to Goodreads here.

And now:

As a thriller writer one question I sometimes get asked is:

What’s your favorite way to kill a character?

A. Gun
B. Poison
C. Buried Alive
D. Drowned
E. Strangled
F. Fire

I know it’s a little morbid but I actually have fun answering this question. There are some great choices here but I’d have to say E. Strangled. It’s just so darkly personal…

And don’t forget my Bonus Giveaway!

I’m offering another giveaway in ADDITION to the the YA DASH contest. Enter the Rafflecopter below for a chance to win a free signed copy of Half in Love with Death!

I’ve not read many books during the flower power time. It would be interesting to see into that time period.

  • Melissa Paschal

I would love to read this book because well simply put… It looks awesome! Thanks for participating in the dash!

I’ve never read a book set in the 1960s so this will be an exciting and unique book for me.

Cool! Congrats on being a finalist for Half in Love With Death. I like the book description. Thank you for the chance for winning your book and for also joining the YA Dash! So excited!!!

I would love to read how it is to be a runaway in search of a missing sister in the 60’s. Sounds like a thrilling book!

This sounds like a blast! The 1960s setting is SO unique and is (quite honestly) giving me some serious Charles Manson vibes. Still excited! Thrillers sometimes freak me out but mostly keep me on my toes and are exhilarating reads! Thanks for doing a giveaway!

    • Emily Ross

Yes, most definitely a Manson vibe!
